Getting addicted to Plein Air Painting!

Streamside at Morning Light sold at The Winter Fine Art Fair at Tioga.

Grazing at the Farm sold at the High Springs Art Coop.

Country Road sold at Boca Fest.
Every Friday has become a wonderful ritual.  In the past several months Gainesville Fine Arts Association has started a little group of Plein Air Painters spearheaded by a super lady and artist, my friend Patricia Veatch. She emails an invitation to many on her contact list and we all meet to paint. Each week is a different location all over Alachua County. We have had fun days on the Santa Fe River, painted a local horse farm in Jonesville, country roads in Alachua, The Thomas Center in Gainesville and many times at the beautiful Kanapaha Gardens.  I even have a yearly membership their now. I will keep you posted on all of our fun adventures.

It has really helped build my inventory for paintings so I can hang in many places now.  I am able to keep the High Springs Art Coop stocked with work and still have plenty of work for art festivals. In 2014 I have done Boca Fest in Boca Raton, The GFAA Winter Fine Art Fair in Tioga and last weekend's, Santa Fe College Spring Arts in Gainesville. For two of them it was my very first time doing them and each was a success for me, the best one ever was in Tioga.

I have lots of new stuff hanging at the High Springs Art Coop so if you get around to visiting High Springs check it out.  The town is springing with life these days. Many new cutie shops have opened!  Maybe it is time to rediscover High Springs especially since the weather is spectacular!
