Summer is fun in High Springs!

"In the Shadows"

The recent Spiked Ice Event at the High Springs Art Coop was a blast.  It was technically an adult ice cream social. We had several flavors of ice cream with various liqueurs and my favorite toppings, nuts, oreo cookies, strawberry's and fudge and caramel syrups. The gallery was packed and it was a great night.

Bullwinkle making friends.
Each coop artists submitted two pieces of art for the guest artist wall and will be featured throughout the month of July.  This is my horse painting which I call "In the Shadows".  This lovely quarter horse lives on the large property on the northwest side of ours in High Springs. He is one of several gorgeous horses that roam freely there.  I took this pic when I was walking Bullwinkle.  They seem to like him and only come near me by the fence when I have the dog.

Plein Air !!!!

The reception was at the end of the day at the Doris Art & Cultural Center in Gainesville, June 1

Historic Magnolia Plantation Bed & Breakfast,

Historic Matheson House
The Duck Pond area in Gainesville, titled "Southern Sass"
The month of June opened for me with a paint out in Gainesville.  Celebrated the 90th birthday for Gainesville Fine Arts Association they sponsored along with The Doris Art & Cultural Center, a plein air event of the historic areas of Gainesville. Those areas included the north & south side, the Pleasant Street and Duck Pond sections.  It was fun, lots of camaraderie amongst the artists and we were served a great lunch at the Doris by Paddiwhack owner, and GFAA President Chuck Sapp. The day concluded with a wonderful ice cream social with lots of patrons, artists, and delicious dessert! All the art created that week is hanging at the Doris for the entire month of June and into July.
All the artists from the event!

I have really gravitated to these events, it is fun to get out there and paint live and I get to visit with fellow artists friends.  It gets really exciting when the public observes and purchases your work!

After the show comes down my work that hasn't sold will be showing at Parks Lincoln Ford 3333 N Main Street in Gainesville.
